Vincent Egan

Vincent Egan is a member of the Special Olympics USA competing in the 2017 World Winter Games in Austria for alpine skiing. The Colorado Springs native has been with Special Olympics for 11 years. Throughout the rest of the year, Egan competes in basketball, softball, flag football, soccer and his favorite, golf. His mother, Karen said that it took him three years to say yes to ski. Vincent is a member of the Board of Directors for Special Olympics Colorado. He attended the Genuine Youth Summit in Los Angeles in 2005 and the National Youth Summit in Nebraska in 2010. He also works at Wal-Mart and Goodwill. He’s looking forward to the whole experience, comradery, and hoping for a hold medal. “Vincent has done a full circle since he’s been with Special Olympics,” Karen said. “He used to be very shy and non-verbal, but now he’s outgoing, social and a real go-getter.” Vincent is an avid lover of the Philadelphia Eagles,“He’s probably their fan of the year,” Karen said.
