Special Olympics Alabama athlete Barbara Green will be attending her first-ever World Games in 2019. She is an athlete who had speech challenges growing up and was often frustrated by people’s inability to understand her. Barbara worked hard to overcome her challenges and is now proudly able to communicate more clearly and effectively with others. She is a true champion! Not only is Barbara a star athlete, she is also a devoted contributor to her community. She is currently a member of the Alabama chapter of Civitan International, a service organization that focuses on serving the community and helping people with developmental disabilities.
