Duane Hall has been involved with Special Olympics for over 27 years. He started out supporting athletes at local events while he was a DSP for OHI, a non-profit agency that supports adults with disabilities. He was soon coordinating all Special Olympics events for OHI, then helping with the Area events and soon the State events. He has been on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics Maine for 15 years. "I take great pride in my involvement with Special Olympics. Being able to help provide opportunities and share knowledge is very rewarding." say Hall. Duane has been a coach at 6 previous Special Olympics World Games. He has been to all 4 Special Olympics USA Games as a coach once, an Assistant Head of Delegation twice and a Special Olympics Unified Sports Partner once. "I love coaching, I love teaching and I love sports. Special Olympics allows me to enjoy all three at once!" He will be a Sport Manager for bowling and soccer while in Abu Dhabi. Outside of Special Olympics, Duane and his wife Karen have been married for 27 plus years. He has two kids and five cats. He loves to read, put together jigsaw puzzles, is a statistician for the University of Maine and an avid Red Sox fan.
