Kegan Zimmerman, of Callaway, Maryland, has been an athlete within Special Olympics for 11 years and competes in 16 different sports. He is a member of the Special Olympics Maryland Board of Directors. He has spoken at several events as a Global Messenger and always seeks out opportunities to share the importance of the “Spread the Word to End the Word" Campaign, along with how much fun Special Olympics is. Kegan has served as President of the Special Olympics Maryland Athlete Congress. Kegan has participated at the 2010 Special Olympics USA Games in Nebraska in the sport of bowling, at the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games in New Jersey in the sport flag football. He also participated at the 2016 Special Olympics North America Golf Championship in Florida. Kegan also plays basketball in an intramural league and is active in his community as a Board Member for the Commission for People with Disabilities for Maryland. Kegan is an Ambassador for the Law Enforcement Touch Run and has participated in the Polar Bear Plunge. He's a member of Crab Wrestling where he serves as a DJ as well as referees.
