Tom Kovacs is looking forward to providing support and care for everyone involved with the US delegation, including his daughter Sarah (a runner), for Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019. This event will mark his third World Games as a volunteer on the Special Olympics USA Medical Team. He has also served as an athletics coach and team doctor for Special Olympics Southern California at Special Olympics USA Games in 2014 and 2018. His favorite part about coaching and volunteering for medical support is learning from the athletes. In his spare time, he also enjoys running and particularly loves watching his daughter train and compete, noting "she actually smiles when she runs!"
