Garrett “The Hulk” Ford is a powerlifter with Special Olympics Ohio where he has trained for the last four years. He is a multi-year gold medal winner at the state level and he has also placed in a traditional powerlifting competition. Garrett recently had the opportunity to meet his personal idol, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and drew some inspiration from that honor to go on and win bench press, deadlift, and overall gold medals at the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle. When he’s not in the gym training Garrett can be found working as a loader in a large farm/retail store, volunteering at a community center helping to feed those in need, listening to music, and hanging out with his family. Garrett wants to make the world better by teaching people about disabilities. He hopes someday to train other Special Olympics athletes. “No matter what, you can accomplish great things if you work hard.”
