Elizabeth Waugh knew early on that she was going to be a coach. She first volunteered with Special Olympics in 2004 while attending college. Soon after, she received her masters in Adapted Physical Education and relocated back home to San Antonio, Texas. Elizabeth now works as an Adapted PE Specialist and is Head of Delegation for her school district. Seeing a need for adult programs, Elizabeth and her husband also coach adult teams in swimming and track. She is becoming a trainer for her area to help increase coaches and athletes in central Texas. Chosen as a swim coach for Special Olympics USA, Elizabeth feels honored, as it will be her time attending a Special Olympics World Games and her first time visiting the Middle East.
