Katherine Philpot was born as a set of triplets at 27 weeks, weighing 1 pound, 10 ounces at birth. Despite having many struggles to overcome, Katherine began her swimming career at the age of eight. She dove into the pool and swam the 25m with ease, and has never looked back. She credits Special Olympics for helping her to "meet nice, new friends. It makes me feel good about myself." When Katherine isn't busy swimming laps in the pool, she enjoys dance, gymnastics, photography, and YouTube. She admits she may even enjoy dance more than swimming! She aspires to be a professional photographer someday, so keep an eye out for her photo skills being put to the test to cover Special Olympics USA at the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019!
