Kyle Visser used to be fearful of the water when he was younger. It took three years with two dedicated Special Olympics Unified Sports partners to improve his swimming from being an assisted swimmer to a high performance swimmer at his high school. He lettered four years at his high school in swimming and in academics. He recently took home a gold medal in the 100-meter Individual Medley event at the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle as well as a silver in the medley relay and a fourth place ribbon in the 200-meter Freestyle event. Kyle has competed in swimming, basketball, flag football, softball, and volleyball for the past 15 years and works full time at Special Olympics Colorado as a Competition Assistant. Kyle is a member of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Executive Committee and is participating in Special Olympics Colorado's Athlete Leadership Program where he travels around the state spreading awareness about the movement.
