Arthur Powers has been competing with Special Olympics Pennsylvania for more than 20 years and during that time has participated in six sports. He'll be attending his first Special Olympics World Games with members of the Clinton County Hawks. Arthur, who works at Walmart, has learned to be open to meeting new people and to be positive in life. He is proud of his son and considers his teammates family. Arthur admires his teammates as well as Eunice Kennedy Shriver because “she gave us this to show the world that we can be champions.” In his free time, Arthur enjoys BMX riding, listening to music and watching movies with friends. He says it’s “beyond words” to explain how Special Olympics has changed his life. He looks forward to showing his town that there are other sports that represent this state and county.
