James Price of Trinity, North Carolina, has coached Special Olympics athletes for 18 years. He will serve as head bocce coach for Special Olympics USA in the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023. James served on his local Program’s volunteer committee for five years and was named Special Olympics Davidson County Volunteer of the Year in 2015. In a coaching role, James has attended two Special Olympics World Games and two Special Olympics USA Games.

For the past 18 years, James has taught special education and is currently teaching at Randleman Elementary School. Every year, he accompanies his students to compete in local Special Olympics events. James and his wife, Tinah, are foster parents, a role that has allowed them to show love and compassion to others in need.

His goal for the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 is to equip athletes with the strategies and techniques needed to compete on a world stage. He admires the dedication of his athletes, motivated to always do their best.
