William “Bill” Braxton of Roanoke, Virginia, has caddied for his sister Grace Anne for many years in Special Olympics competitions. He will assume the same role representing Special Olympics USA in the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023. Special Olympics has changed Bill’s life, taking great pride in watching his sister win her many gold medals in national and international competitions. He celebrated alongside her as she was inducted into the Virginia Golf Hall of Fame in 2022. Grace Anne’s energy and enthusiasm inspire him, as she works tirelessly to improve her skills. As her caddie, Bill attended the 2006 Special Olympics USA Games, many state-level competitions and a United States Golf Association championship.

Bill is employed as an assistant commonwealth’s attorney for Roanoke County. In his spare time, he golfs and has run two marathons to date. He looks forward to representing the United States and seeing all the athletes achieve what they have set out to accomplish.
