Katie McGhee of Tampa, Florida, has been involved with Special Olympics for seven years, including six years as a staff member for Special Olympics North Carolina. Prior to joining the inclusion movement in North Carolina, Katie interned with Special Olympics Virginia as a college student. Her current role as the director of digital media for Special Olympics North Carolina allows her to tell the stories of the thousands of Special Olympics athletes reaching their goals on and off the field of play. She will represent Special Olympics USA as additional support staff in marketing and communications.
Katie enjoys spending time with her dog and two cats, travelling and volunteering at her local SPCA. While attending the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, she looks forward to seeing athletes aim for greatness and conquer their challenges, all in the spirit of sportsmanship and inclusion.
