Katie is from Colorado and has competed with Special Olympics for eight years in soccer, flag football, Unified track, cheerleading and basketball. She plays for the Colorado Rapids Unified soccer team and competed on the 2022 MLS Unified All Star team. Katie credits Special Olympics with changing her life and introducing her to many meaningful friendships. When not playing soccer, Katie works for the Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Mammoth and the Denver Nuggets as part of the hype squad and ski patrol.
