Jarod Malott of Columbus, Ohio, has been involved with Special Olympics for over two decades as a Unified partner, coach and volunteer. His involvement has allowed him to connect deeply with his sister, Katie, who is a Special Olympics athlete. Through her involvement in Special Olympics, Jarod has witnessed the joy, determination, and community that Special Olympics brings. Katie inspires him every day, and being part of Special Olympics has made their bond even stronger.
Jarod enjoys volleyball both on and off the court—refereeing, mentoring and recruiting officials, and playing indoor and outdoor with friends. He has earned recognition as a USAV National Referee, USAV National Scorer, and PAVO National Referee, and was honored with the USA Volleyball Bronze Whistle Award.
He looks forward to bringing back insights from other volleyball programs to strengthen opportunities in the United States.
