Erin Cagle of Raleigh, North Carolina, has competed in Special Olympics since 2008 in Alpine skiing, gymnastics and tennis. She will represent Special Olympics USA in artistic gymnastics. Special Olympics has improved Erin’s self-confidence, as she takes great pride in her accomplishments and independence. In 2013, Erin was presented the Special Olympics North Carolina Robb Williams Tennis Sportsmanship Award, an award created to honor the memory of Special Olympics North Carolina athlete Robb Williams, his love for tennis and his value of sportsmanship.

Erin sings with the Triangle Alliance Chorus, takes piano classes and participates in a special needs reading group. Through Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources, Erin makes arts and crafts, including jewelry. She enjoys going to church and traveling, having traveled to the Caribbean, Italy, Greece and Egypt. For more than a year, Erin has worked at the Hampton Inn & Suites as a housekeeper. Proud to represent the United States, Erin looks forward to competition at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023.
