Christopher Hahn

Chris Hahn grew up in Lawrence, Kansas and graduated from the University of Kansas. It was during his college years that Chris began his involvement with Special Olympics in 1971. He has served as a volunteer, coach, clinician, Games Management Team Chairman and recently became a family member. In 1983, he began working for Special Olympics Oklahoma and in 1988 became the President/CEO of Special Olympics Kansas. Chris attended his first World Games in 1979 and has attended every Games since, with the exception of the 1993 World Winter Games. In addition, he has served on International Sports Rules Committee, various management committees including the United States Leadership Council and the Risk Management Task Force for Special Olympics Inc. Chris has served on U.S. Program review teams, conducted numerous volunteer training workshops, presented at state, regional and national conferences and been a Special Olympics consultant in Europe and Africa. Chris has been involved with Special Olympics USA since it’s inception and served in the role of Head of Delegation since 1994. He chaired the United States Leadership Council Sports Committee when the U.S. Sports Plan was written, which included the offering of USA Games. In 2006, Chris became the stepfather of a daughter, a Special Olympics athlete.
